It’s official, IOI City Mall is now the largest mall in Malaysia as it opens its doors to its Phase 2 expansion today.
A short walk from IOI City Farm which we visited earlier this week, Phase 2 is home to new shops, attractions, and activities to fit into the mall’s value proposition as being a lifestyle spot.
Notable attractions worth highlighting are the IOI Grand Exhibition and Convention Center, a 40,000 sq ft fully-carpeted event hall, and IOI Sports Centre. The latter has 15 badminton courts with rubber flooring, and two mini futsal courts that can be converted into a full-sized futsal arena.
Of course, retail stores make up the bulk of the 2.5 million sq ft of net lettable area, and as we walked through Phase 2, here’s what we noted was already opened, and what else is coming soon.
This categorised list is non-exhaustive and is based on what we came across while walking at least 6,000 steps over an hour.

With Phase 2, IOI City Mall has proven that it’s poised to be the go-to destination for lifestyle and leisure retail and attractions.
Something that we unfortunately didn’t get to properly explore was the outdoors area of Phase 2, since it began raining cats and dogs just shortly after our tour of the IOI Sports Centre (read our sister brand DiscoverKL’s exploration of the space here).
So, if the weather permits whenever you’re heading to check out Phase 2, do take a walk outside too.
