Amidst much fanfare, the host of Roadies, Sonu Sood, launched Club Roadies at Chandigarh’s Elante Mall recently. Sonu and the contestants Moose Jattana, Ashish Bhatia, Aarushi Dutta, Sapna Malik, Gaurav Alugh and Sohail Singh Jhuti, took the crowd by storm with a fantastic bike rally in true Roadie style to kickstart the launch. The event also witnessed popular VJ Gaelyn as host, and great performances by singer Arjun Kanungo as well as Hustle-fame rapper Agsy.

Sonu Sood says, “I enjoyed hosting for the first time and our Roadies journey in South Africa was exciting. The contestants almost became a part of the family before we shot the finale. Although it was work, but still felt like a mini-vacation. The energy of youth and team spirit that Roadies stand for was refreshing and I am definitely in for the next season.”

The actor welcomes the two newly opened places, a restaurant called Roadies KoffeeHouz and Club Roadies, as it will help more people connect with the Roadies franchise and vice-vera. He adds, “It is incredible to see that fans of Roadies in Chandigarh now have an amazing destination to celebrate their Roadie spirit! Club Roadies has an incredible vibe that is completely in sync with the adventure and energy that the show stands for. The show-inspired décor and elements will definitely appeal to the youth.”

Pollywood calling

Sonu, who was last seen in Samrat Prithviraj, shares, “I have always wanted to work in Punjabi projects, but a good script did not come my way. I don’t want to work on something just for the sake of it. Maybe I have to write a script myself for a Pollywood debut!”

The actor says he enjoyed riding the bike on the roads of Punjab during his college years in true Roadie spirit. “But for an actor, it is important to take care of the body and stay away from injuries. That thought made me part ways with bikes although I had bought a Harley Davidson. Now, my friends ride it more than I do. Roadies also brought the passion for bikes back.”

As for his philanthropic works, Sonu has skill-development and education of youth on his mind, something which he is already working upon.
