Rumored Fortnite Anime Crossover Is Apparrently Jujutsu Kaisen, Not One Piece

Highlights

  • Fortnite is set to collaborate with a beloved and well-known anime, with the alleged collaboration being Jujutsu Kaisen.
  • One Piece was speculated to be the anime for the collaboration, but multiple sources have debunked this theory.
  • In addition to the anime collaboration, Fortnite will also be adding more WWE personalities to its roster in the near future.

A leaker who correctly predicted the Fortnite crossover with Transformers from last month is now saying that the free-to-play battle royale has another collaboration coming with a “beloved & well known” anime.

While the original post did not indicate the name of the anime that would be used in the alleged collaboration, fans across social media seemed to have collectively decided that the anime must be One Piece, but multiple sources have shot that theory down. As was released after being teased for several hours, the leaker has revealed that the anime that will allegedly be used in the crossover event will be Jujutsu Kaisen.

For those not familiar with Jujutsu Kaisen, it centers around a student at a magical school who becomes possessed by the king of curses after swallowing a cursed finger and must conmsume 19 more fingers scattered across the world to end the curse, along with his own life The manga kickedm off in Weekly Shonen Jump in March 2018 and the anime followed about two and a half years later, quickly becoming one of the most popular anime series in the world.

A lot of the speculation over One Piece seemed to center around the fact that Netflix will be bringing a live-action adaptation of the highly popular anime to its streaming service staring on August 31, and the anime and manga are still putting out new episodes and chapters as well despite the manga making its debut in 1997. While the live-action version of One Piece already has its detractors—possibly due to Netflix’s last attempt at adapting an anime, 2021’s Cowboy Bebop, being universally panned and cancelled after one season—that’s not enough to bring down the spirits of Fortnite players who’d still like to see Luffy and company come to their game.

In addition to the Jujutsu Kaisen collaboration, the leaker claims Fortnite is also planning to add more WWE personalities to its roster soon. While that news hasn’t generated quite as much electricity and the anime announcement, fans over on Reddit are already throwing out possible names they’d like seen added to the cast, including Rhea Ripley, Kofi Kingston, Rey Mysterio, Randy Orton, Seth Rollins, and Becky Lynch.

Fortnite has a long history of including collaborations with other well-established intellectual properties. Just a few days ago, the Fortnite v25.20 added Futurama skins for Fry, Leela, Bender, and their Universe 1 counterparts, as well as equipment and emotes all themed around the long-lasting Matt Groening cartoon. And as of yesterday, dataminers had revealed images that indicated Arnold Schwarzenegger’s classic cybernetic character The Terminator was coming to the game as well.
