Rahil Azam, who is playing DSP Anubhav Singh in Maddam Sir, talks about his fitness regime

How does it feel to play the role of a cop onscreen?

It is an exciting opportunity to play a DSP. I always wanted to essay such a role. I enjoy the dynamic, yet relaxed aspect of this character.

Any special preparations that you did for the role?

I did not prepare much for the role as getting into the uniform automatically made me step into my character’s shoes. My body language changes when I am in uniform.

What kind of response have you received for your role so far?

It has been overwhelming. I hope fans continue to support me.

Considering your hectic shoot routine, how do you manage to stay fit?

Fitness is my priority and I adjust my shoots according to my workout schedule. I don’t miss my training because of a hectic schedule; I tend to work the other way around. I believe a good workout makes me work better, as I am very energetic throughout the day.

Amid the pandemic, how do you keep yourself calm and positive?

I keep my mind healthy by offering prayers and work-out religiously for my body.

Given the current scenario, when gyms are shut, how are you maintaining a fit body?

I am a firm believer of where there is a will, there is a way. I think there is always room for a routine workout. You do not require many things for that, just a pair of dumbbells are enough.

Any quick healthy snack that you rely on during your busy days?

Snack is something that organically shouldn’t be healthy! I think meals should be healthy and have all the constituents that will make your body fit. Otherwise, eat any snack that makes you happy and burn it out during your workout.

What kind of music do you like listening to while you workout?

During the work-out session, your whole body is in a rhythm by default. For that matter, I don’t even need a training partner or anybody to prep me up for my workout. If given a choice, I would want to listen to retro songs or songs with more bass.

Any fitness tip for your fans?

The only tip I would want to give my fans is to be natural. As long as you are natural, you eat healthy food and consume supplements only to an extent. Your body should complement your personality; your look and everything together is a package and is unique to you. So, don’t indulge in comparing yourself with anybody and focus on your identity.
