How has been the learning experience under Naseeruddin Shah?
It has been an amazing journey learning from the master himself. At his age, he is still so passionate about acting. He gives so much time to his students. He was there to guide every student who was serious about learning the craft.
Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania, Bhoot and Hum Do Hamare Do; how was the experience of working in these films?
I was a little nervous while doing Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania. But it was great working with Alia Bhatt and Varun Dhawan. Working in Bhoot was a completely different experience; the make-up process used to take over three hours. I was wearing lenses through which I could hardly see anything! We shot Hum Do Hamare Do during the pandemic. So, it was really tough.
What is the update on your Punjabi film Parindey with Yuvraj Hans?
The movie is ready and will release in theatres soon.
What is the one thing about Punjab that you like the most?
I love Punjabi music and Bhangra. The energy of Punjabi people is electric and they are always upbeat.
You were a part of Punjabi film Gelo. How has been the experience of working in it?
It was an amazing experience. When I read the script, I really wanted to be part of it.
What has the industry taught you so far?
Patience is the key.
What attracted you to choose a career in acting?
The fame of stars.
Have you progressed in your career as you had expected?
No, I still feel I have a lot more to achieve.
What sort of roles will you be seeking in the future?
Like every actor, I want to try my hand at all genres, but I would really like to do the role of a gangster.
What has been your greatest accomplishment as an actor?
I am yet to become an ‘accomplished’ actor!
Do you think honesty is always the best policy?
No, I don’t think so, as I work in an industry where you have to be very diplomatic.
How would you describe yourself in five words?
I am hard-working, confident, dependable, creative and positive.
What makes you smile and what scares you the most?
Seeing my family happy makes me smile and the fear of failure scares me the most.
