This character has both negative and positive shades. While he cares about his children, he is also quite strict. He is someone people can relate to.
What message are you giving out?
My message is love your children, but don’t spoil them. Be strict but not that strict that the child becomes stubborn. Keep a balance. I think the audience will like my character.
You are paired with Neelu Vaghela. How is the partnership doing?
The partnership is going great. She is much more experienced than me both on television and in films. I like working with her and gaining from her experience.
You speak with this Haryanvi accent. How did you master that?
My mother tongue is Haryanvi. And this Meerut dialect that we speak in the show is very close to Haryanvi.
How would you rate your satisfaction level at this stage of your career?
It’s just the beginning of a new show on a new channel, Azaad. It is also a beginning for me as an actor with a powerful character. So, the satisfaction level we can say is 50/50. I need to reach 100 per cent. The response that I am getting from the audience is awesome.
What’s your suggestion for the budding actors?
Work hard to achieve the goals of your life. Especially in the field of acting, one has to be very patient. I have seen in my 12 years of experience in Mumbai that everyone gets opportunities if he/she stays focused.
If not an actor, what would you be?
I would’ve been a soldier because it was my wish since childhood to serve the nation. Babuji wanted me to be a soldier and my mother wanted to see me as an actor. Finally, it was maa ka aashirwad that made me an actor.
What keeps you motivated?
The positive feedback. It sounds good when someone praises my character.
