MasterChef Australia Season 13 has finally drawn to a close with the announcement of the winner. Indian-origin Justin Narayan has made everyone proud with an incredible win. Justin clinched the trophy after defeating the other two finalists, Kishwar Chowdhury and Pete Campbell, in the pressure test. After the win, he took to his Instagram account and thanked everyone for supporting him. “Find people that believe in you. Back yourself. Go hard and hopefully you will surprise yourself. Whoever’s reading this I love you,” he wrote, sharing a string of pictures from the finale episode.
As part of the final challenge on the cooking show, the contestants had to recreate two of Australian chef Peter Gilmore’s dishes—shaved southern squid with koji butter and shiitake custard and a golden crackle. Justin bagged a perfect score of 40/40 for the first dish, beating the other candidates and took home the prize money of USD 250,000 (Rs 1.86-crore approximately) along with the MasterChef trophy. The 27-year-old Justin, who hails from Western Australia, has his roots in India. Apart from Justin Narayan, the show this year also featured another Indian-origin contestant — Depinder Chhibber, a pharmacist by
profession from Delhi.
