A: Let’s look at this biblically. If Jesus were around today, would he be miraculously turning five loaves and two fish into enough food to feed thousands of hungry people? I don’t think so. Nobody wants loaves and fish these days, not unless the loaves are bánh mì and the fish is served with a tangy nuoc cham dressing. Instead, a modern Jesus might be miraculously turning a single Netflix account into enough streams to feed thousands of entertainment-starved viewers. Even those wretched, pitiful viewers who just want to watch both seasons of Too Hot to Handle.

So why don’t you become the modern-day Jesus of subscription-based streaming services? You could selflessly devote your life and time and income to opening enough Netflix accounts to satisfy not just your moochy relatives, but everyone! I can see you now, wandering the streets of Rose Bay in your Jesus robes (a fleecy oodie with a pawprint motif), handing out flyers with your Netflix login details – maybe also a list of top-20 show suggestions with Rotten Tomatoes percentage scores.
If being a charitable Christ figure doesn’t appeal, then go on, flip over to the dark side and become a streaming service anti-Christ. Tell your moochy relatives you’re cancelling Netflix since there’s nothing good to watch, change your password, then secretly continue to watch your favourite blasphemous, devil-worshipping shows like Cooked with Cannabis, Floor is Lava and all 10 eps of Emily in Paris.
