foodpanda partners Syfe to offer riders free financial workshops as part of upskilling efforts

foodpanda has recently collaborated with digital investment platform Syfe to launch a pro-bono initiative, offering all foodpanda delivery partners in Singapore free financial workshops.

This partnership is in line with foodpanda’s efforts to support and invest in its delivery partners’ upskilling and growth.

Through these workshops led by Syfe’s community building arm, Syfe for Good, foodpanda riders can better prepare themselves financially by having more opportunities to learn about investing, retirement and managing personal finances.

To leverage on this benefit, foodpanda riders can simply join the workshops via the scheduled link sent to them. The first 3,000 foodpanda riders to indicate their interest will be offered Syfe’s lifelong investing support of up to S$10,000 — free of charge.

The lifelong investing support includes an absorption of all platform and management fees by Syfe.

The partnership led by Syfe for Good is part of Syfe’s third anniversary celebrations and aligns with Syfe’s brand purpose to shape better outcomes in life through the power of good investing.

Syfe for Good has been developing financial literacy and equipping initiatives to support communities in Singapore. By working with partners, staff and volunteers, Syfe creates useful and impactful programmes for the good of Singapore’s society, allowing smart and affordable investing to be made more accessible.

As a homegrown company, the partnership with foodpanda is an endeavour to better support individuals within the Singapore community, equipping them with the knowledge and tools needed on the important topic of money and financial security.

Currently, the workshops have already begun and will continue till the end of August. Each virtual workshop has a duration of about 30 to 40 minutes, and is held at 3pm to best accommodate the schedules of foodpanda’s delivery fleet.

The sessions also make use of engaging poll questions in an open conversation format for riders to raise any questions along the way.

With the workshop having kickstarted in July, foodpanda riders have already started learning valuable lessons.

“Syfe has helped me to understand more about the fundamentals of investment and how to manage my investments for a better future. They have also provided a lot of details on the pros and cons of the different types of investment methods.” said foodpanda rider, Benjamin Chan.

Put together by Syfe’s investment and advisory team with staff volunteers, the workshop agendas are done up in close collaboration with foodpanda based on the attitudes, mindsets and interest areas of riders on the topic of money.

Championing their riders, Darryl Chua, Operations Director at foodpanda Singapore shares that they always make an effort to upskill their riders, and have offered them access to courses on multiple topics ranging from customer service to personal branding.

In particular, Darryl adds that finance-related courses are always well-received, which ultimately signalled the need for the collaboration to provide these workshops that cover financial literacy, a topic that foodpanda riders are highly interested in.

“Being in control of one’s finances is one of the most important things an individual can do to feel secure and confident about the future. We hope that through this partnership with foodpanda, more riders can feel empowered in the area of saving and growing their wealth for themselves and their families,” concluded Sebastian Sieber, Syfe.
