Combine that with fun fall activities, and you have the  ingredients for a perfect camping getaway. A top family favorite, apple picking has got to be on the list  when it comes to all things fall. Whether you are after a tasty honey crisp or a juicy gala apple, these six spots are great locations to check out and all an hour or less away from great camping destinations.

Kiyokawa Family Orchard – Mt. Hood, OR

If you’re a fan of camping in the Pacific Northwest, then head to Mt. Hood Village in Welches, OR. With a  variety of camping, RV and glamping options, this is the place for you. Less than an hour away you can  find Kiyokawa Family Orchard. This destination offers farm stand and pick your own options through  October 31 and is open daily. Not only can you fulfill all your apple-picking needs here, but you can also  check out a variety of additional fruits and vegetables harvested. 

Sutter’s Ridge Farm – Mount Horeb, WI 

If you are native to the Midwest and looking for a nearby getaway, Lakeland RV Campground in Milton,  WI is the place for you. Less than an hour outside of this incredible campsite you can find Sutter’s Ridge  Farm. This orchard is open Thursdays through Sundays until October 31. This pick your own experience  does not just stop with a variety of apples, but other fruits, vegetables and even pumpkins!  

Lakeview Orchards – Mayfield, NY

Calling all East Coast campers, if one of your favorite camping destinations is Lake George Escape in Lake George, NY, then you have to check out Lakeview Orchard, just over an hour away. Lakeview  Orchard is open for the season to pick your own on Saturdays and Sundays from 12-4 pm. Not only does  this orchard have a variety of apples available this season, but you can also purchase fresh cider to top of  all your fall must-haves. 

Weaver’s Orchard Inc. – Morgantown, PA 

If you find yourself camping at Spring Gulch RV Campground in New Holland, PA, then you need to make  sure to stop by Weaver’s Orchard, less than a half-hour away. This orchard is open Monday through  Saturday for picking your own apples until the beginning of November. In addition, Weaver’s offers  pumpkins for picking and be sure to check out the orchard’s list of family-friendly fall events! 

Jonemac Orchard – Malta, IL 

Another Midwestern campsite you need to check out is O’Connell’s Yogi Bear RV Resort in Amboy, IL! This family-friendly camping destination is just over a half an hour from Jonemac Orchard. If you are a fan  of all things fall, then this is the orchard for you! From daily apple-picking to cider, pumpkin patches, and a  haunted corn maze, this orchard has it all! You can apple-pick here through October 30. 

Jones Creek Farms – Sedro Woolley, WA 

Located just an hour away from Birch Bay RV Campground in Blaine, WA, is Jones Creek Farms. If you  find yourself staying at this beautiful campground, then you must check out this farm that specializes in  pick your own. Jones Creek Farms is open weekly Friday through Monday. Throughout the season Jones  Creek Farms offers a variety of over seventy-five kinds of apples! Be sure to check their website to see  what apples are in peak season before heading to the farm. 

Make sure to visit each orchard’s website or call ahead so that you plan your apple-picking right. Each orchard has different hours for picking your own and suggestions on what to bring along for your visit.  Make your fall camping experience complete this year by adding one of these campgrounds stays to your list.
