While enjoying the applause that Nikkhil Advani’s The Empire is garnering as of now, Aditya Seal, who essayed the role of Humayun in the web series, says the OTT platforms have changed the entire entertainment industry and are a boon for actors like him.

Born and brought up in Mumbai, Seal chose the field of acting to fulfil his father’s ambition, a journey that he calls a rollercoaster ride. “I started way early, but I was noticed only with Student Of The Year 2. There have been highs and lows, but I am proud of my journey,” says the actor, who has made his way into the industry sans any godfather.

While he loves the challenge that comes with each new character, what he’s consistent about is his fitness regimen. “A healthy diet and workout is the key to fitness. Although a cheat meal here or there is fine, mostly one should be consistent with the fitness goals,” says Seal, who enjoyed being the show-stopper for designer Siddartha Tytler’s recent Couture Week outing.

Amongst his idols is Hrithik Roshan, “Right from great looks, super dance moves, amazing action to acting, he’s got everything.” Looking forward to Bosco Martis’s upcoming dance horror comedy, there are more films that he is yet not at the liberty to disclose.

The pandemic has changed him as a human being. “The year 2020 taught us how short life could be, so I have now oriented myself towards happiness. None of my big plans worked through it all and that was how it was for all of us. So, one day at a time it is for me now.”

Ask him if the entertainment industry is highly competitive, stress-laden field to be in and he says, “Which field doesn’t have competition? Which job comes without stress? We are so many now, so there is anxiety and competition everywhere.”

He’s as shocked at Sidharth Shukla’s sudden demise as everyone else. “Sidharth was in such a good space professionally, especially after Bigg Boss. He had it all going for him,” he rues.

Happy exploring mediums as an actor, it’s a thriller on his ‘to-do’ list next. As for his favourite shows, “Through the lockdown I saw it all – right from Paatal Lok, Panchayat to Sacred Games.”
