(Broadry) — “When we are traveling our sleep is so important to make sure that we are fully able to enjoy our travel — whether it’s for leisure or for business,” says Sleep Expert Dr. Rebecca Robbins.
Robbins says setting a schedule, making a sleep-friendly room, and maintaining healthy habits can all help sleepy travelers during the holiday season.
“As a global society we are finally drawing more attention to the critical importance of sleep. And sleep offers so many benefits. We wake up after a good night of sleep and we are energized, we are in a better mood, we make better nutrition choices, we get more out of our exercise. So, when you are traveling make sure to look for a hotel that really has been designed with your sleep in mind,” says Robbins.

Robbins has teamed up with The Benjamin Royal Sonesta Hotel in New York, a Sonesta property.
The hotel recently launched a program called “Rest and Renew” where guests can choose from a curated pillow menu, on demand meditation, sleep masks, ear plugs, blackout curtains, noise machines, and even lullaby music to help guests get a better night’s sleep.
“Also packing things like eye masks or pajamas that you love can also go a long way for your ability to sleep at your new destination,” says Robbins.
