Xiaomi introduced its flagship Xiaomi 12 series in India with the launch of the Xiaomi 12 Pro smartphone. Currently, this series includes two more devices — Xiaomi 12 and Xiaomi 12X, which have already been released globally and are expected to arrive in the country soon. The Chinese smartphone maker is set to add two more smartphones to the lineup — the Xiaomi 12 and 12S.
Apart from this, Xiaomi is also set to work on the high-end Xiaomi 12 Ultra smartphone. The company is said to release the handset later this year. According to a report by AndroidPolice, the design renders and key specifications of the Xiaomi 12 Ultra have been leaked online ahead of the official launch. The images have revealed the front and back of the upcoming Xiaomi ultra-premium flagship smartphone.
Xiaomi 12 Ultra expected design
The report says that the Xiaomi 12 Ultra is expected to sport a big camera island on the back that will have a circular camera module along with multiple cutouts for the camera lenses and other sensors. The upcoming premium smartphone is likely to feature a quad-rear camera setup and will also come with a Leica branding on the back that confirms that the flagship’s camera system will be tuned in collaboration with the iconic German camera maker.
Moreover, the report has further revealed that the phone’s power and volume rockers will be located on the right side. The top panel is expected to house the cutout for the secondary speaker while the bottom panel will include — the primary speaker, the USB Type-C port and the SIM tray.

The Xiaomi 12 Ultra is likely to sport a 6.6-inch curved AMOLED display panel that will include a hole-punch cutout at the top centre to house the selfie camera and will support a 120Hz refresh rate. The smartphone is expected to miss out on the secondary display and is expected to come powered by a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor backed with 12GB of RAM and up to 256GB of internal storage.
As per the report, the Xiaomi 12 Ultra will include a 50MP main camera which might be a Sony IMX989 sensor, a 48MP ultrawide camera and two periscope camera sensors with different focal lengths. The upcoming device is also likely to pack a 5000mAh battery unit that may support up to 120W fast charging.
