Xenoblade, Monolith Fan Theory Debunked via Pokemon Legends Arceus

Pokemon Legends Arceus is the newest game in the franchise, bringing a new formula to the nearly immovable IP, by going towards the open-world route. As such, many fans hypothesized that Monolith Soft was working on Arceus.

Monolith Soft is a studio specialized in JRPGs, led by Tetsuya Takahashi. Together with Soraya Saga and Masato Kato, he’s one of the main creators of Xenogears on PS1. Furthermore, Monolith Soft over the years developed incredible expertise when it comes to building open-world games.

The first Xenoblade on Wii had incredible exploration and environment design. Xenoblade X set the bar even higher, and it’s a shame it’s stuck on the Wii U. Monolith Soft later worked on Zelda Breath of the Wild, greatly contributing to making the game a masterpiece.

Pokemon Legends Arceus credits confirm Monolith Soft wasn’t involved

Many fans expected Monolith Soft to have helped out Game Freak on Pokemon Legends Arceus. But turns out this popular theory was debunked. Now that Legends Arceus has been officially released, looking at the credits after clearing the game will make you notice Monolith Soft isn’t listed on the game.

For several years now, Monolith Soft has been working on at least three unannounced projects listed on its official site. A Zelda game, which is likely the Breath of the Wild sequel, an RPG, and an action game.
