NEW DELHI: Vivo has finally confirmed the launch date of its upcoming flagship smartphone series. After numerous leaks, Vivo has confirmed that it will launch the Vivo X70 series of smartphones in China on 9 September. The company will launch three smartphones under the series — Vivo X70, Vivo X70 Pro and Vivo X70 Pro+. The company announced the launch date of the smartphone by posting a teaser image. The image shared by Vivo shows the backside of the smartphone. The image confirms that the smartphone will house a leather-like back cover same as the one found in Vivo X60 Pro+. The new Vivo X series smartphone will feature a quad-rear camera setup which will also include a periscope lens. The rear camera will be accompanied by a triple LED flash.
Another teaser image shown by the company confirms that the new Vivo X70 series of smartphones will house a Zeiss optics camera with T coating, and ZEISS VARIO TESSAR 1.57-3.4 aperture / 14-125 ASPH lens.
Vivo has also revealed that the Vivo X70 series will come with the company’s self-developed V1 image chip. This new chip promises to improve the image quality and will also enhance night video shooting capabilities. The company revealed that it has been working on the new chip for the past 24 months.
Expected price
It is expected that the company may also launch all three smartphones in India later next month. The smartphones were also spotted on the BIS certification website. Rumours suggest that the Vivo X70 Pro+ would be priced around Rs 70,000, while the X70 Pro would cost Rs 50,000.
Rumoured specifications
The Vivo X70 is said to house a 6.5-inch display, while the Vivo X70 Pro and X70 Pro+ are said to come with a 6.56-inch and 6.7-inch FHD+ AMOLED display. The display on all three smartphones will offer 120Hz refresh rate. The company is said to include a curved screen display in the Pro models, while the X70 model is expected to come with a flat-screen.
The Vivo X70 and X70 Pro are expected to be powered by an octa-core MediaTek Dimensity 1200 chipset, while the X70 Pro+ is said to be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 processor. All three smartphones are said to run Android 11 operating system.
It is also said that the Vivo X70 and X70 Pro will reportedly come with 44W fast charging support, whereas the X70 Pro+ is said to come with 66W fast charging support.
