India’s Test captain Virat Kohli began training for the 2nd Test of the 2-match series against New Zealand in Mumbai. Kohli was seen training at the Cricket Club of India at the Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai even as his teammates are gearing up for the series opener, starting November 25 in Kanpur.
Virat Kohli took to social media to share a photo of himself with a cat that found comfort on his lap during a break in the training session. Kohli was seen sitting with the Indie cat at the Brabourne Stadium.
“A quick hello from a cool cat at practice.” he wrote as caption for the photo that was gone viral on social media.
Notably, there were plenty of comments for the photo and one of them came from his wife and Bollywood actor, Anushka Sharma.
“Hello Billi,” Anushka wrote to which Kohli came up with a funny response. “Launda from Dilli and Mumbai ki Billi (Guy from Delhi with a cat from Mumbai),” Kohli wrote.

Virat Kohli will not be playing the first Test in Kanpur as he was rested for the series opener and the 3-match T20I series that preceded the Test series. Ajinkya Rahane will lead India’s Test team in the series opener in Kanpur.
Virat Kohli gave up T20I captaincy, citing workload management but maintained he will continue to lead the side in Tests and ODI cricket. Kohli has begun training for the 2nd Test well in advance as he will be hoping to hit peak form once again.
Notably, November 23 marks 2 years since Kohli scored a hundred in international cricket. The India captain got a 3-figure score in the pink-ball Test against Bangladesh in Kolkata.
