Valve Reportedly Earns Over $11 Million for New In-Game Items

CS:GO players have already spent millions within 24 hours on the game’s latest in-game package. Valve has recently introduced a new package in the game called Anubis Cases.

It’s not uncommon for players to spend money on in-game items or packages, but the numbers here are fascinating.

Anubis Collection Package stands apart from most CS:GO cases as they generally need a key to be opened. That’s not the case with the Anubis Collection Package.

Valve sells keys for around $2.49 these days, and they still remain popular due to the rarity of items in certain cases.

Regardless, CS:GO players have already given millions in profit to Valve for the latest pack, as per data miner TDM_Heyzeus.

The user reported their calculations on Twitter, where they stated that at least 5.5 million Anubis cases have been opened so far.

As per their calculations, Valve has generated $11 million in revenue through these packages alone within a day.

The data miner made their calculations by first taking into account the mathematical odds of packing a Covert skin, which stands at 1/3906. Similarly, the M4A4 | Eye of Horus skin through the Anubis Collection Package is just as rare a reward.

Then, TDM_Heyzeus used the existing data available on the float.db database file to find out that at least 5.5 million Anubis Cases have been opened already.

Some quick maths to calculate the price revealed that Valve has generated at least $11 million dollars in revenue through this package alone. Notably, 1.9 million cases were opened in the first 24 hours, as per the data miner’s estimates.
