Riot Games has announced the launch of the open beta of its upcoming Premier mode. This new feature will take competition in this action-packed game to another level as it encourages all Valorant players, professionals, and amateurs alike to embrace their competitive sides. Here’s everything you need to know about Premier Mode and the Open-Beta which is set to launch in another week.
The hub for the Premier mode can be found right below the Play button on the homepage. An explanation modal will pop open when you visit the Premier Mode hub for the first time.
Premier Mode Open Beta will take place in three phases — Enrollment, Competition, and the final Playoff Tournament.
How to participate in Valorant’s Premier mode
Enrollment
The open beta of Valorant’s Premier mode is set to launch with the commencement of Episode 6, Act 3 of Valorant on April 25. The first phase is Enrollment, which you will need to as a part of a team, if you want to participate in Valorant Premier. In order to do so, you first need an account that is SMS verified. Additionally, you need to have played at least one ranked match in your Valorant career, which automatically puts a prerequisite of Level 20 and above. As for your team, each can have five to seven players, that you can choose and build yourself. Alternatively, you can join an existing roster.
The Captains of each team will have to enroll their rosters to Premier mode, which will require them to select a Zone. This will determine the server the team will be playing Premier mode matches on. Once teams get registered in their respective zones, they will automatically be divided into 20 divisions based on the average MMRs of the top five players of the team. This concludes the first phase. For the open beta, Enrollment will close on April 28.
Competition
The second phase includes competitions, where each team can play up to two matches each week. Maps will keep rotating throughout the week as per a pre-determined schedule, and you can queue up with your team from the Team Hub accordingly. This second phase of weekly matches will be held from April 29 to May, 20, 2023.
Every match you play will add points to your career in Premier mode. You’ll get 100 points if you win, 25 points if you lose. At the end of each week, evaluation will take place resulting in top teams from each Division, with at least 375 points to qualify for the Playoff Tournament, which is the final phase.
Playoff Tournament
The Playoff Tournament has been scheduled for May 21, 2023. The format is very similar to most professional Valorant tournaments, where maps for each match will be selected using a pick and ban system. Each team will start in the main bracket and compete their way through the top teams from zones across the world. The ultimate winning team will earn the title of Premier Beta Champion. The third rank in the Playoff Tournament will be claimed by teams from the consolation brackets.

Since Premier Mode is still in its Beta phase, people who enroll will be able to send in their feedback until the window permits. However, Premier Mode will launch globally sometime in August after VCT 2023 ends. As a result, while your progress will not be carried forward with the global launch, you will receive a batch declaring you as the Premier Beta Champion, along with the bragging rights that come with it.
Riot Games plans to replace Open Qualifiers of VCT Challengers with this Premier mode that is now being tested. For more information, check out the official page for Valorant’s Premier mode on playvalorat.com.
