Valorant: Latest Patch Interchanges Lobby Positions of Unrated and Competitive, and Other Latest News

Riot Games released the latest patch for Valorant on July 12th. While the patch doesn’t introduce significant changes, one notable alteration is the interchanging of the icons for Unrated and Competitive in the lobby. Surprisingly, this change was not mentioned in the patch notes and was silently implemented, leading to player frustration and subsequent complaints.

Valorant Patch Update 7.01 brings minor change, but players are complaining

Several players online have reported accidentally queuing for the wrong match in Valorant, such as selecting Unrated instead of Competitive, or vice versa. Some players on the Valorant subreddit have even expressed confusion, initially believing the game was bugged as they unknowingly played an Unrated match, mistakenly assuming it was a competitive one. Additionally, some users have complained about inadvertently choosing agents they wouldn’t normally pick for a competitive match, unaware they were entering an Unrated game.

The seemingly minor change in positions of the icons is evidently having a significant impact on Valorant players and their ranks. However, this is not the sole source of frustration for players, as the game has also been plagued by numerous bugs and glitches. One recent issue involves Raze, specifically with her ultimate ability not functioning properly, as observed during a recent match streamed by Twitch streamer Kyedae.

Bug reported with Raze’s Ult

In the video, it is evident that Kyedae uses Raze’s Showstopper ability on Omen, but it fails to have any effect despite a direct hit. Compounding the problem, Omen managed to retaliate and eliminate Kyedae’s Raze, resulting in the team losing the round. Other players have also reported experiencing this glitch, where Raze’s Ultimate ability fails to inflict damage. Riot’s tech lead, Marcus Reid, has acknowledged and addressed the issue.

Reid explained that the glitch is fixable, and the developers will address it soon. Additionally, the tech lead provided an explanation via their official Twitter handle regarding the likely cause of the issue.
