Ubisoft announced its financial results for the first nine months of the fiscal year 2022-23. In the report, the French video game company’s CEO, Yves Guillemot, stated that it was prioritizing its efforts on big brands and long-lasting live games.
Guillemot also talked about Rainbow Six Siege’s performance, stating that it was good despite intense competition in the shooting games space. The Assassin’s Creed franchise also had high engagement levels as well, and the company believes The Division will reach a global audience with it’s The Division Resurgence mobile game. The upcoming mobile title will come out with Rainbow Six Mobile in the next twelve months.
Rainbow Six Mobile will offer a full-fledged and authentic Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six experience, while The Division Resurgence will be a high-end AAA mobile looter-shooter with a PvE campaign and cooperative platform.
CFO Frédérick also has high expectations for the upcoming fiscal year. This year will see Assassin’s Creed, Avatar, Rainbow Six, and The Division universes getting new titles.
Apart from this, both Guillemot and Duguet teased a “large game” that is set to release within the next fiscal year. The game hasn’t been announced yet, so it is likely not something that we already know about, such as an upcoming Assassin’s Creed title.
XDefiant playtest, The Division 2 is broken, Assassin’s Creed Nexus sequel
In other news, Ubisoft has announced that it’s holding the first cross-play test for XDefiant, its upcoming free-to-play FPS game. The game was announced in July 2021, as a new entrant in the Tom Clancy universe. But the Tom Clancy association was dropped by the company.
