Ubisoft Debunks Marvel’s Blade Game Rumors

Marvel is working on a new Blade movie, a reboot of the original trilogy, and it is slated to release next year. Amidst that, rumors about a Blade game being in development have also been making rounds on social media.

After the success of Marvel’s Spider-Man, many would expect that we would be seeing more superhero games in the coming days. While the Avenger’s game turned out to be pretty mediocre, fans were curious to know which game is coming next from the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Recently, motion actor Alex Martin shared a few pictures with Bassam Tariq, the director of the upcoming Blade movie. However, what was interesting was the fact that the actor was wearing a Ubisoft badge and had tagged video games in the post.

Unsurprisingly, what followed is a social media hype train about the game, with fans expecting a Gamescom 2022 announcement for the game. However, Ubisoft has debunked all the rumors and clarified on its official Twitter handle that it is not working on Marvel’s Blade game, stating: “Sorry to slice up the rumors, we’re not making a Blade game but we can’t wait to see what our friends at @MarvelStudios are cooking up for next year’s movie!

While Ubisoft has shut down all speculations, it should be noted that it doesn’t totally rule out the possibility of seeing Blade in a game. Ubisoft has explicitly stated that it is not working on a Blade game, but that doesn’t mean it will not add Blade in some other game. The involvement of Ubisoft in a Marvel movie is something that doesn’t add up, which is the reason why it is pretty hard to dismiss this as just a regular set picture. Not to forget, Marvel, or rather Disney, has had a history of working with Ubisoft in the past for games like Avatar and Star Wars, so a collaboration can’t be ruled out. With Gamescom right around the corner, we might be in for a surprise.
