WhatsApp has started rolling out new emojis to Android beta users of its app. This was spotted by WABetaInfo — the website that tracks all the changes and upcoming features on the instant messaging app — on WhatsApp. According to the website, WhatsApp has added the iOS 14.5 emojis support to its platform and is visible to Android 2.21.16.10 beta users.
This means that WhatsApp users are getting 217 new emojis that were part of the Unicode Consortium’s Emoji 13.1 update.
Some of the new emojis include face in cloud, burning heart, skin colour hangs to couple series and much more.
Now that it has been rolled out to the beta users of the app, it is expected that the company will soon roll out the same to all users too. Beta users first get access to any new features as it gets tested in a small user base first and in case there are some bugs it can get fixed first and then be rolled out to everyone.
Last month, the company also rolled out multi-device support to a limited number of testers first and then as an opt-in beta program. According to the company, currently, it is being tested with a small group of users from its existing beta program. Therefore, multi-device beta is currently available to eligible WhatsApp and WhatsApp Business app beta users.
What is WhatsApp multi-device support feature
The multi-device feature on WhatsApp will allow you to use your phone and up to four other non-phone devices simultaneously — even if your phone battery is dead.
