The Texas Chain Saw Massacre is an asymmetrical horror game as well and it is based on Tobe Hooper’s classic 1974 horror movie with the same name.
Gun Interactive announced “The Texas Chain Saw Massacre” in 2021 and it is being developed by Sumo Nottingham.
The Texas Chain Saw Massacre will pit ‘victims’ against the killer family which has two new members. Johnny and Sissy have been confirmed as playable characters of the killer family which includes The Hitchhiker, The Cook, and the iconic Leatherface.
Each character will have their own set of attributes, abilities, and skills. There are three main attribute categories: Savagery, Harvesting and Endurance.
- Savagery deals with the amount of melee damage dealt.
- Harvesting deals with the amount of blood gained for Grandpa when interacting with victims.
- Endurance affects the stamina drain and recharge rate.
The ‘victims’ will have to complete a series of missions in order to escape from the killer family. Connie, Ana, Julie, Sonny, and Leland are the confirmed victims so far. Like the Killer family, they also have their unique special abilities.
The Texas Chain Saw Massacre is set to release on August 18 for Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC.
