Disney still hasn’t officially renewed Star Wars’ The Mandalorian for Season 4 but executive producer Rick Famuyiwa has assured fans that it’s “certainly coming”.
Speaking to Deadlne, Famuyiwa explained that it’s hard to pinpoint when the next season of The Mandalorian will arrive on Disney+ thanks to the complex collection of different Star Wars shows being made, but that it would definitely be coming eventually.
“I think because of the way we shoot and how the stagecraft plays into it, a lot of this stuff has to be thought through, built, and conceived in prep and you don’t necessarily have the luxury to start shooting and say, ‘okay, we’ll figure this out later’,” Famuyiwa said.
“I know that [co-creator Jon Favreau] has written the scripts. I know he’s excited about continuing to tell stories in this world, and so when and how that happens, considering everything, we’ll see.
“I felt like this season was a nice culmination, but I’m excited about Season 4. It’s certainly coming, I just don’t know exactly when.”
Favreau said he was writing the script way back in May 2022, before Season 3 had even premiered, and confirmed it was finished in February.
There’s also a chance Din Djarin and Grogu show up in upcoming Disney+ series Ahsoka, as this takes place alongside The Mandalorian and other “Mandoverse” show The Book of Boba Fett.
Ryan Dinsdale is an IGN freelancer and acting UK news editor. He’ll talk about The Witcher all day.
