The Lenovo 4th Of July Gaming Sale Starts Now: Save on Legion Desktop PCs and Laptops

Lenovo’s 4th of July Sale has commenced, and there are already some excellent deals on gaming laptops and desktop PCs. Many of these discounted PCs are equipped with the newest AMD and Intel CPUs and GeForce RTX 40 series GPUs. Lenovo Legion gaming computers are well liked among gamers and reviewers. The build quality on a Legion laptop or desktop is generally higher quality than what you’d find from most other prebuilt PCs. People like the fact that Lenovo does not use proprietary components in their rigs, so they’re much easier to upgrade with easiy obtainable, off-the-shelf components compared to some other popular prebuilt PC brands. Lenovo gaming rigs generally also utilize solid cooling, especially for the CPU, even if you opt for the base models. The very highest end configs are even equipped with huge all-in-one liquid cooling loops that rival enthusiast builds.

Lenovo Legion 7i Gen 8 RTX 4070 Ti PC for $1671.99

This Lenovo 7i Gen 8 PC features a 13th gen Intel Core i7-13700KF Raptor Lake CPU, GeForce RTX 4070 Ti GPU, 16GB of DDR5-5600MHz RAM, and a 1TB SSD. The RTX 4070 Ti performs better than the RTX 3090. Compared to AMD’s best card, the Radeon RX 7900 XTX, it only performs slighly worse without ray tracing, but it performs better with ray tracing enabled. It’s still a solid card for 4K gaming and at this price it’s significantly cheaper than the RTX 4080 or 4090.

Lenovo Legion 7i Gen 8 RTX 4080 PC for $2319.99

The RTX 4080 is the second most powerful card on the market and a considerable step up in performance over the 4070 Ti. This (or the 4090) is the card you want for 4K gaming without any restrictions. On the AMD front, only the Radeon RX 7900 XTX can keep up (and that’s if you ignore DLSS and ray tracing). It’s much more powerful than previous generation cards, performing about 50% faster than an RTX 3080 Ti. It’s actually only 20%-30% slower than the RTX 4090 (and you’ll really only feel the difference in 4k) while costing hundreds of dollars less. Check out our RTX 4080 review.

Lenovo Legion 5 Gen 8 RTX 3060 Ti Gaming PC for $1196.99

If you’re looking for a rig that excels at 1080p gaming and doesn’t come with a high price tag, Lenovo has got you covered here as well. This Lenovo Legion 5 gaming PC features an AMD Ryzen 7 7000 series CPU and a GeForce RTX 3060 Ti GPU for under $1200. The RTX 3060 Ti handles all manner of 1080p gaming without breaking a sweat, and even has the chops to handle some 1440p gaming.

Lenovo Legion Pro 5 Gen 8 16″ RTX 4070 Laptop for $1397

You have two models to choose from: pick the AMD Ryzen 7 7745HX CPU or the Intel Core i7-13700HX. If it was our money, we’d pick the AMD model mainly because it is $100 cheaper. The 7745HX is AMD’s newest Ryzen 7 chip. It stands toe to toe with Intel’s best 13th gen Intel Core i7 processor while consuming less power. The RTX 4070 mobile GPU performs roughly 20%-30% faster than the RTX 3070 that is replaces. That means its also a little bit faster than the RTX 3070 Ti. You’ll need this kind of power to run games on the laptop’s QHD+ display with settings turned up. RTX 40 series cards also support DLSS 3.0, which is essentially DLSS 2.0 plus frame generation. For games that support it (like Hogwarts Legacy) this is a big FPS increase over even DLSS 2.0.

Lenovo Slim 5 Gen 8 16″ RTX 4060 Laptop for $1215.99

If you’re looking for a Lenovo ultraportable laptop that has gaming chops, then this Slim model might up right up your alley. Despite it’s impressive 16″ form factor, it measures only 0.78″ thin and weighs in at under 5.07 pounds. It’s definitely lighter than the Legion laptops and it sips less power on the CPU front with your choice of either an Intel Core i7-13700H or AMD Ryzen 7 7840HS processor. It makes for a solid gaming PC thanks to the new RTX 4060 GPU. Performance-wise, the RTX 4060 mobile GPU sits right in between the RTX 3070 and RTX 3070 Ti and it has the advantage of DLSS 3.0 support.

Lenovo Legion Pro 7i Gen 8 4090 Gaming Laptop for Under $3K

It’s rare to find a Lenovo Legion laptop with an RTX 4090 GPU for under $3K. In fact, if you shop around, you’ll hardly find any RTX 4090 gaming laptop sell for under $3500, let alone under $3K. This is an even better deal when you consider the fact that it’s also equipped with the newest 13th gen Intel Core i9-13900HX Raptor Lake CPU, the fastest mobile processor available from Intel, and a higher resolution 17″ 2560×1600 QHD+ display.

Lenovo LOQ 16″ RTX 4060 Gaming Laptop for $1139.99

Lenovo released a budget line of gaming laptops this year dubbed the “LOQ”. This particular LOQ laptop is priced a lot less compared to a Legion laptop with similar specs. Fortunately, this config doesn’t skimp on the premium features. Not only do you get the latest RTX 4060 GPU, which is superior to the previous generation’s RTX 4070, it’s also paired with AMD’s current-gen AMD Ryzen 7 7840HS CPU. The rest of the specs are impressive as well: a 16″ 2560×1600 QHD+ display, 16GB of DDR5-5600MHz RAM, and a 1TB SSD.
