The Legend of Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom: Where Is Hestu?

There are a lot of wacky characters for you to meet in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, and none may be wackier than Hestu. This large Korok is your source for upgrading inventory space and some cute dances, but, unfortunately, he can be a little tricky to track down.

Over the course of the game, Hestu will be moving to different spots around the map, depending on what has happened in the game and whether you have encountered him yet. As is the case with so many things in the game, Hestu and his location is not indicated to you very clearly, so if you don’t know where you need to be looking, you may be lost.

Hestu’s First Location – Lindor’s Brow

You can first find Hestu near Lindor’s Brow. He is just southeast of the Skyview Tower that is here, and you can find him standing on the hillside, looking worried about something. Nearby, you will find some enemies, but those aren’t what has Hestu so concerned.

Instead, speak with him, and he will tell you that he has lost the Korok Seeds that gave his maracas their signature sound. And to make matters worse: his Korok friends have taken all the other Seeds and have hidden them around Hyrule, and he has no idea where they are. It’s up to you to find a Seed for him and help him make his music again.

Just bring him one Seed from any Korok in the game, and you can complete the quest. Doing so will have Hestu give you your first chance to upgrade your inventory. Choose to gain a slot in one of your inventory screens and watch his fun, little dance with some other Koroks.

With that, he will move from this spot and head to his second location.

Hestu’s Second Location – Lookout Landing

Hestu doesn’t go far for his second location, relocating just southeast of where you found him to Lookout Landing. Specifically, you can find him in the southeast corner of the base, between the stable and general store. He is standing under a tree, and when you have more Korok Seeds, you can trade with him to continue growing your inventory space.

It should be noted that he won’t appear here until you progress through some of the game’s main quests. So go out and take care of a few of those, and check back with Lookout Landing to see when he arrives. He’s remain in Lookout Landing for quite some time before he relocates to his third and final location.

Hestu’s Third Location – Korok Forest

TotK - Hestu's Third Location on Map

For his third relocation, Hestu will return to the home of his people: Korok Forest. This will be his final spot for the rest of the game, but he will only arrive here after you have completed a specific task.

You can find the forest to the northeast of Lookout Landing, north of Rauru Hillside. However, the forest is not a friendly place at first and will require you to enter the Korok Forest from below, in the Depths! The entire experience will culminate in a fight with Phantom Ganon to help lift the corruption of the Great Deku Tree in the Chasm below.

When Phantom Ganon has been felled, you can return to the surface, and you will find Hestu close to the Great Deku Tree. From here on out, this is where you can find him to increase your inventory.
