While DC’s next movie in The Batman hasn’t dropped yet on theatres around the world, the first few reviews for it are finally online as the embargo for critics ended yesterday.
Over the past week, news had spread about the review screenings for Robert Pattinson’s turn as the Dark Knight, and fans can now finally learn more about the film’s quality, and according to the reviewers, it’s a smash hit.
Review aggregator Rotten Tomatoes currently has a ton of reviews, and the website has a 87% Tomatometer score, which makes it a Certified Fresh movie.
Most reviews for The Batman heap praise at many of the movie’s biggest qualities. This includes the cast with many of them emphasizing the portrayal of The Riddler, Penguin and Catwoman by Paul Dano, Colin Farrell and Zoe Kravitz, respectively.
Along with that, cinematography has also shined bright with Greig Fraser of Dune fame at the helm. Plus, everyone has also showered their love to director Matt Reeves, who has woven an absolute thriller with a Se7en-esque noir detective flick with Robert Pattinson’s Batman.
However, some reviews also talked about its negatives such as the long runtime which seems to make the movie feel a bit too stretched out. Moreover, some of them have also found the dark and broody Batman a bit too repetitive following the character’s portrayal by Ben Affleck in the DCEU.
Even then, most reviews seem to be on the positive side with a few rotten comments about the movie’s style. However, the current score should have the fans excited with the movie set to release on Friday, March 4.
In the end, the hype for The Batman has reached its peak with the release of the movie’s first reviews, and fans can’t wait to have a watch.
