The 5 Best Movies Leaving Netflix at the End of the Month

Netflix has one of the largest collections of movies available to stream online, but not the most consistent selection. There’s a constant churn of films coming and leaving each month, and it can be difficult to figure out what the best movies on Netflix are at any given week. That being said, if we know something good is leaving the streaming platform, it’s a great reason to watch it before it’s gone.

The next batch of movies will be leaving Netflix on August 1, so we’ve gone ahead and pulled out some of the best ones to watch before they’re gone.

Dawn of the Dead (2004)

Dawn of the Dead is arguably the best zombie movie remake out there and one of the best zombie films in general. Taking place in the midwest, the movie follows a group of survivors who suddenly find themselves in a worldwide zombie apocalypse. In an effort to survive, they hunker down in a shopping mall until supplies start running low. With fast zombies, great action, and a morbid sense of humor, Zach Snyder’s Dawn of the Dead remake is one of the best horror movies on Netflix right now.

Hardcore Henry (2015)

As far as action movies go, Hardcore Henry is quite unique. It’s essentially a first-person shooter in movie form that takes the viewer on a journey of non-stop action. The film follows the point of view of a cybernetic super soldier that has been brought back to life by what he is told is scientist wife. The main character is unable to speak due to a speech module never being installed into their cybernetics, so when his wife is kidnapped, he has no choice but to silently and ruthlessly try to get her back. It’s an action-packed 90 minutes that is absolutely worth the watch.

Skyfall (2012)

As the third film in the Daniel Craig Bond series, Skyfall jumps right back into what you’d expect from a James Bond movie by featuring a somewhat similar plot to Goldeneye. The main villain is a past double-O agent turned evil whos is threatening to take down MI6 completely. Played by Javier Bardem, Silva is one of the more maniacally terrifying villains in the history of Bond as his actions are made to seem somewhat justifiable. Skyfall is an essential film in the series, and a great rewatch for fans of the best spy movies.

We’re The Millers (2013)

Featuring a star-studded cast, We’re the Millers is an underrated comedy that is held up by solid performances and meme-able moments. The story follows a veteran pot dealer (Jason Sudeikis) who finds himself in the unfortunate situation of having to move a huge shipment of product into the U.S. through Mexico. In an effort to remain unseen, he decides to create a fake family with a stripper (Jenifer Anniston), his teenage neighbor (Will Poulter), and a runaway teen girl (Emma Roberts). The unlikely grouping of misfits results in a family comedy that, while fairly straightforward, is both funny and heartfelt.

Underworld (2003)

The first movie in what went on to become series of 5 films, Underworld is an epic fantasy depicting the war between two supernatural races. Selene, played by Kate Beckinsale, is a vampire warrior who finds herself in the middle of the conflict between vampires and Lycans (a werewolf species). Her entire existence is turned on its head as soon as Michael, a human she’s been falling for, is bitten by a Lycan. Together they begin to unravel some of the darkest secrets of the supernatural underworld.
