Superman: Legacy: Director James Gunn Explains Why He Chose Guy Gardner’s Green Lantern

Nathan Fillion was recently announced to have joined the cast of Superman: Legacy as Green Lantern. However, Fillion will be playing the role of Guy Gardner, which was an interesting choice on Director James Gunn’s part. And now, Gunn recently explained what made him choose this particular Green Lantern over the others for his Superman movie.

James Gunn’s on choosing Superman: Legacy’s Green Lantern

Gunn was asked on BlueSky by a fan as to what made him land on Guy Gardner “of all Lanterns”. To this he explained that he really loves the character from JLI (Justice League International) especially. He further added, “he also fits the story I’m telling with Legacy.”

Some of the heroes that we’ll get to see in Superman: Legacy along with Green Lantern include Metamorpho, Hawkgirl, Mister Terrific, and Superman, needless to mention. The inclusion of multiple DC heroes in a Superman movie has raised questions, and Gunn recently took to Instagram to explain his choice. Gunn says that Superman is a man of both worlds, the human and the superheroes. Therefore, it is not possible to tell a full story of Superman without equally presenting both of those worlds. While we’ll get to see Clark Kent’s human counterparts, we’ll also get to see the superheroes, and Guy Gardner is one of them.
