The biggest sports event for the month is upon us, as NFL’s Super Bowl LVI, which will be held in Los Angeles is just around the corner. The final match of the NFL playoffs will see the Cincinnati Bengals of the AFC square off against the NFC’s Los Angeles Rams for the Championship.
Aside from all that, the sporting event will include the Pepsi Super Bowl LVI Halftime Show, aka the main event, and will feature performances from Eminem, Kendrick Lamar, Mary J. Blige, Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre.
Super Bowl LVI viewers are in for a huge treat this year as prominent studios vie for attention during the sporting competition’s hyped up commercial breaks. While Super Bowl LVI may yet throw up some surprise additions to its commercial roster, we expect to see previews from the likes of Universal, Paramount, Disney and Netflix. Here’s every trailer to expect at 2022’s Super Bowl LVI:
Moon Knight
Disney may just use its third Super Bowl LVI spot to advertise its upcoming Disney+ exclusive series, Moon Knight. Moon Knight’s MCU phase 4 ties make it a guaranteed commercial hit should Disney choose to air a new trailer for the series at the upcoming Super Bowl. The new series will follow Marc Spector (Oscar Isaac), a mercenary drawn into a deadly mystery involving Egyptian gods.
Bel-Air
Universal has one final ace up its sleeve in the form of the new series Bel-Air, which will be distributed by their sub-division and streaming service Peacock on the day of the Super Bowl itself. Acting as a prequel to The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, the new Peacock original is set to chronicle Will Smith’s complicated journey from the streets of Philadelphia to the Banks family’s gated mansion he eventually found himself in.
The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power
Much awaited after the completion of The Hobbit and the LOTR films, The Rings of Power series will follow the creation of the Rings of Power, bringing many fan-favorite J.R.R. Tolkien characters to live-action for the first time. The series takes place after the evil god Morgoth has been defeated in a war that almost decimated the entire land. Morgoth’s general and apprentice, Sauron, has also vanished after the conflict. Set thousands of years before Frodo and Sam’s journey to destroy the One Ring, the series will start as the elven leader Galadriel hunts down what remains of Morgoth’s minions who still hide in the shadows.
She-Hulk
She-Hulk is the last major character that was co-created by Stan Lee. In the comics, Jennifer Walters is an attorney and a cousin of Bruce Banner. After an emergency blood transfusion from her cousin, Walter receives powers to become She-Hulk. Featuring her cousin Bruce Banner and his alter-ego in Hulk, She-Hulk will finally give fans the long-awaited live-action adaptation for Jennifer Walters.
Obi-Wan Kenobi
The show will mark Ewan McGregor’s return to the iconic role of the Jedi Master, a role that he haven’t reprised since three “Star Wars” films: “The Phantom Menace” (1999), “Attack of the Clones” (2002) and “Revenge of the Sith” (2005). The story begins 10 years after the dark events of “Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith” where Kenobi faced his greatest defeat, the corruption of his best friend and Jedi apprentice, Anakin Skywalker turned evil Sith Lord Darth Vader. The series is slated to be released in May, 2022 so it makes sense for Disney+ to air a first look or teaser for Obi-wan Kenobi. The show will also feature cameos from Hayden Christensen as Darth Vader.
Well, that was a round-up all the series that we can expect to see in this Superbowl’s Half-Time show, and hopefully, will air super soon.
