Students allowed for admission into UG classes with downloaded marksheets, undertaking – Times of India

BHUBANESWAR: The council of higher secondary education (CHSE), which publishes results of Plus II final year students, has delayed in issuing original certificates and marksheets to these students. Reason: the council is taking time for scrutiny of the data and printing the certificates.

Due to this disruption in supplying the original certificates, marksheets and migration certificates to the Plus II passed out students this year, students could not submit original certificates for verification at the time of admission.

In view of this, the higher education department on Monday asked degree colleges to accept students with self-attested downloaded marksheets along with undertakings submitted by the students during the time of admission.
Rajesh Kumar Sahoo, deputy director, performance tracking cell of the higher education department, in a letter to the principal of government and non-government degree colleges coming under his department said the degree colleges will verify the downloaded marksheets submitted by the selected students from the Student Academic Management System (SAMS) website.

He said the ICSE/CBSE/other board students, if selected for admission, must submit downloaded marksheet and certificate duly attested by the head of the institution, if original documents have not been issued yet by the concerned board/council to these students. They shall not be debarred from taking admission, he added.

Sahoo said colleges should keep undertaking from the admitted students regarding submission of original certificates and marksheets within 15 days from the date of admission for first selection and seven days for second selection.

“Students of ICSE/CBSE/other boards should be allowed one month time from the date of admission to submit the original migration certificate if they are not able to submit the same, failing which their admission shall be cancelled,” said Sahoo in the direction.

CHSE chairman Gangadhar Sahoo told TOI that they have set a target to complete the printing of original certificates within a week. “We need to scrutinize the input given by the colleges before printing the certificates. Then we will print it. We hope the certificates can be disbursed among students after a week,” he added.

First round admission for Plus III first year students has started from Monday. It will continue till 5pm on September 16. Second selection merit list will be published on September 21, while second round admission will be conducted between September 22 and September 25.
