NEW DELHI: Sugar shares closed higher in the Thursday’s session.
AVADHSUGAR(up 3.56%), BAJAJHIND(up 2.81%), Uttam Sugar Mills(up 2.79%), Ugar Sugar Works(up 2.51%), Triveni Engineering & Industries(up 2.42%), Bannari Amman Sugars(up 2.22%), Dhampur Sugar Mills(up 1.60%), Sakthi Sugars(up 1.45%), Shree Renuka Sugars(up 1.41%) and Dwarikesh Sugar Industries(up 1.33%) stood among the top gainers.
Dharani Sugars & Chemicals(down 2.06%), Vishwaraj Sugar Industries(down 1.16%), MAGADHSUGAR(down 0.46%), KCP Sugar & Industries(down 0.24%), Rana Sugars(down 0.21%), K.M.Sugar Mills(down 0.21%), Ponni Sugars(Erode)(down 0.09%) and Dalmia Bharat Sugar & Industries(down 0.04%) were among the top losers of the day.
The NSE Nifty50 index ended 234.75 points up at 17401.65, while the 30-share BSE Sensex closed up 776.5 points at 58461.29.
Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone(up 4.4%), HDFC(up 3.85%), Power Grid Corporation of India(up 3.52%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries(up 2.8%), Tata Steel(up 2.76%), Bharat Petroleum Corporation(up 2.74%), Tech Mahindra(up 2.65%), Grasim Industries(up 2.63%), Indian Oil Corporation(up 2.51%) and Bajaj Auto(up 2.43%) stood among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.
On the other hand, Cipla(down 0.74%), ICICI Bank(down 0.73%) and Axis Bank(down 0.52%) closed in the red.
