April’s Star Wars Celebration 2023 was a great day for fans of the popular sci-fi franchise, as Lucasfilm announced that three new Star Wars movie will be coming in the future amongst other projects. Fans have been confused as to how Lucasfilm are going to connect the announced films as they are set ages apart. Fortunately, Lucasfilm President, Kathleen Kennedy has stepped up to explain the link.
Readers should know that the link we are talking about is between two newly announced movies that are set literally tens of thousands of years apart from each other. The movies in question are Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy’s Jedi Order Movie and James Mangold’s Ancient Jedi Movie. Kennedy recently appeared for an interview with GamesRadar+, where she explained the connection between the two movies.
Ms. Marvel’s Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy will be directing the New Jedi Order movie that will showcase Rey’s promise to Luke as its “core” said Kennedy. It will also be a movie that will provide opportunities to introduce new characters and extend the universe that George Lucas has created. Mangold’s movie on the other hand is a story that everyone has been longing for, because fans want Lucasfilm to explore the very origins of The Force.
Kennedy explains the connection between the two movies stating “it was something that Jim Mangold immediately sparked to” and thinks that it will acts as a nice compliment with what lies for Rey in the future by understanding how everything started. Kennedy adds that this will be “at the heart of creating the new Jedi Order, so to get a real sense of where that might have began with the dawn of the Jedi could be pretty cool.” Which movie are you looking forward to more?
