Star Wars: George Lucas Came Out of Retirement for Clone Wars; Han Solo Actor Addresses a Potential Return and More

Star Wars: The Clone Wars was the series that gave fans a new outlook to the franchise’s lore and the universe at large. During the time of Clone Wars, George Lucas had already announced his retirement from the series. But for some reason, he decided to come out of it for the animated show.

In an interview with SlashFilm, Henry Gilroy, one of the people responsible for giving us Star Wars: The Clone Wars, told fans why George Lucas came out of retirement. At first, Lucas had told Gilroy and others that he has retired, and will not see them more than once or twice a year. Lucas further added that Gilroy’s team will be handling the creation of this project, which means the former won’t be needed much.

According to Gilroy, he thought Lucas only considered the series as a cartoon first, but when he got to see the early cuts of the show, he said, “Oh, you guys are creating cinema” Since then, Lucas showed up every week providing notes and inputs of all sorts for the series.

Sam Witwer caused the Death Star to Blow Up

In other news, noted Star Wars actor Sam Witwer jokingly agreed with a fan’s theory about him causing the Empire’s downfall. The theory suggests that Witwer the actor was the one responsible for getting the Death Star blown up. According to his theory, the Darth Maul actor was the trooper responsible for Cassian Andor’s arrest. In the prison, Andor took the first steps in leading the rebels against the Empire, which eventually lead to stealing the Death Star plans. Sam Witwer retweeted this theory saying, “its canon”.

Alden Ehrenreich Speaks about Potential Comeback for Han Solo

Alden Ehrenreich, who played Han Solo in Solo: A Star Wars Story, was asked whether he would return as the character in an interview with IndieWire. The Cocaine Bear shared that he really got to be Han Solo towards the end of the story he played in. Ehrenreich added that it was the most fun part of the movie. He concluded stating that he would be happy to make a comeback, but “who knows.”
