Doctor Strange’s co-writer C. Robert Cargill has praised SS Rajamouli’s film RRR. Praising the film, Robert wrote that he is going to watch it again with his friends. Last month, actor-comedian Patton Oswalt shared a series of tweets complimenting RRR. The film, which starred Ram Charan and Jr. NTR in the lead roles, broke several box office records since its release and has earned over ₹1150 crore at the box. Sharing RRR’s poster, Robert wrote, “Friends came over last night to initiate me into the cult of RRR (RISE ROAR REVOLT) and I’m here to report I am now fully, truly, deeply a member. This is the craziest, most sincere, weirdest blockbuster I’ve ever seen. I’m pretty sure Jess and I are watching it again this week.”
Complimenting the first scene from the film where Ram Charan runs towards the crowd, one fan commented, “The opening sequence where the hero goes into the raging crowd to apprehend the rioter who threw the rock… Might be the best action sequence of the 21st century.” One person said, “I am amazed you took this long,” Robert replied to his comment, saying, “I was waved off of the Netflix version and waited to see the original language version.”
Recommending him KGF Chapter 2, one person commented, “I humbly request you to watch #kgf1 & #KGF2 . It is the highest grosser movie of India in 2022 beating #RRR as well.” Complimenting Rajamouli, one fan wrote, “Rajamouli saab is the only big director in India who believes in glorifying Indian tradition, history and culture in his films at the biggest possible scale. He’s by far the most visionary director of India. Whole world appreciating his art. This is the real Indian cinema for you.”
RRR is loaded with VFX and is based on the lives of revolutionaries Komaram Bheem (Jr NTR) and Alluri Seetharama Raju (Ram Charan) in pre-independence India. The movie also features Ajay Devgn, Alia Bhatt, Shriya Saran, Samuthirakani, Olivia Morris, Alison Doody, and Ray Stevenson.
The film has gained new following since its digital debut last month. The Hindi-dubbed version of RRR is streaming on Netflix while the original Telugu (as well as Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam versions) is streaming on Zee5. Recently, Netflix released figures that showed it was the most-popular non-English film on the platform glob
