Spy x Family Season 2 and Anime Film Are Coming Out This Year

Spy x Family, the hit anime series is returning for a second season later this year, with an anime film also set to come out in December.

At the AnimeJapan event in Tokyo, it was announced that Spy x Family Season 2 will come out in Fall 2023. No exact release date was announced, but we can expect the anime to drop in October this year.

Tatsuya Endo’s popular manga received an anime adaptation in 2022, which became one of the most-well received anime series of the year.

CloverWorks and WIT Studio are returning to produce season 2 of Spy x Family, with Kazuaki Shimada serving as the main anime character designer and [K]NoW_NAME producing the music.

Spy x Family: Code White anime film release date announced

Spy x Family Season 2 was not the only thing announced at AnimeJapan. The joint production is also working on an anime film, and AnimeJapan dropped some exciting details about Spy x Family: Code White.

The film will feature an original story crafted by Endo and is currently scheduled to release on December 22, 2023, in Japan.

Takashi Katagiri, who worked as an episode director on the first season of Spy x Family, will direct the film. Meanwhile, Kazuhiro Furuhashi, the director of the TV anime, is supervising the film and working on the second season.

Kazuaki Shimada is returning as the main anime character designer for the film, with Kana Ishida joining as the sub anime character designer. Ichiro Okouchi, the writer of popular anime series Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion, will serve as the series composer for the second season and writer of the film. Ayumu Hisao and Daishiro Tanimura, who worked on the first season, are returning as sub-series composers.
