Spider-Man Battles Predator in the Latest Marvel Universe Battle Variant Covers

Marvel Comics is finally set to launch its new monthly Predator series after an unexpected delay, and they’re celebrating the occasion with a new series of variant covers featuring the iconic alien hunter battling the heroes of the Marvel Universe.

Is there a world in which the Predator could triumph over the Incredible Hulk or the combined might of the X-Men? We’re not sure, but you can decide for yourself by checking out all the variant covers revealed so far in the slideshow gallery below.

In total, Marvel will publish 21 variant covers featuring these hypothetical vs. match-ups during July and August. The full list includes:

Marvel’s actual Predator series, which is written by Ed Brisson (Old Man Logan) and drawn by Kev Walker (Deadpool), will debut on July 6. The series was originally solicited for a July 2020 debut, but was quietly canceled after the initial announcement. Marvel has never confirmed the reason for this lengthy delay, though the recent legal battle between Disney and the screenwriters of the original Predator movie is believed to be the culprit. Marvel has also been publishing new Alien comics since acquiring the rights to both franchises in 2020.

In other Predator news, the fifth movie in the series is right around the corner. Dubbed Prey, this upcoming prequel is set 300 years in the past and pits a Comanche warrior against one of the alien hunters. Prey will stream exclusively on Hulu in Summer 2022.
