Sony’s Newest Studio Acquisition Reveals Its First Game At PlayStation Showcase

During today’s PlayStation Showcase, Firewalk Studios–which was acquired by Sony last month–revealed Concord, a new space-faring game that marks the first from the new studio.

The brief teaser trailer showed a lone starship blasting through a colorful rift in space, while a lone voice initiates a countdown to warp speed. We see scenes of a battle within the ship’s cockpit, which includes unfinished food, gunshots on the walls, and more.

A PlayStation Blog post about the game following its reveal confirms Concord is a PvP multiplayer first-person shooter, though no other details were given. The blog says the team is “hard at work” on development, and that they will be “fully revealing the game prior to launch next year.”

“Concord is a bringing together of peoples. It’s the power of games to build connection and inspire social play,” the blog post says. “The Firewalk team is driven by the type of exciting, unexpected moments and shared experiences that multiplayer games create. Every time you log on is the beginning of a new adventure and every match is an opportunity for a new story.”

Concord will launch in 2024 for PlayStation 5 and PC.
