Shamita Shetty denies report of breakup with Raqesh Bapat, thanks paparazzo who praised their jodi

Actor Shamita Shetty was spotted in Mumbai on Thursday amid rumours of her breakup with boyfriend Raqest Bapat. She indirectly shot down the rumours of their split by thanking photographers who praised her for her pairing with Raqesh. The two had met on Bigg Boss OTT last year and fell for each other. A paparazzi account shared a video of Shamita in which she was seen walking towards her car. She wore a floral white dress with bandages on her back and shoulders. As she tried to move through the crowd of fans and photographers, she asked them to be careful. A person congratulated her and praised how she and Raqesh look nice together. She replied to him a few times, saying “Thank you,” as she sat in her car.

Around the same time, she also reacted to a news portal who reported about their breakup, claiming that the two were clashing on many things. Sharing a screenshot of the news article, she wrote on her Instagram Stories, “We request you all to not believe in any sort of rumours pertaining to our relationship. There’s no truth in this. Love and light to everyone.”

 On Wednesday, Shamita had also shared a picture of Raqesh posing at a media event with a certificate in his hand. “Congratulations. So happy for you @raqeshbapat,” along with heart and party icons and a hearteyes emoji.

Last month, Shamita had said during an interview that the two do not have any plans to get married right now. On being asked if Raqesh has asked her to marry him, she told Siddharth Kannan in an interview, “No! Woh paagal hai? Iss stage pe koi bhi mereko aise bolega, please, main bhaag jaungi. Aur agar main usko bolungi, woh bhaag jayega (He’s not crazy. At this stage, if anyone says that to me, I will run away. And even if I tell him this, he will run away). It’s too soon for all this.”
