Samsung is reportedly expecting to receive a much bigger initial order of display panels for Galaxy Z Flip4, compared to its predecessor Galaxy Z Flip3. GSMArena reports, Ross Young, CEO of Display Supply Chain Consultants (DSCC) has tweeted about this update. As per Young, Samsung Display is likely to start shipping these display panels as soon as April.
The shipment volume is also rumoured to be nearly 60 percent more than Samsung Display’s initial shipment of displays for the Galaxy Z Flip3 in 2021. Samsung might order 8.7 million display panels for Galaxy Z Flip4, while the South Korean tech giant only ordered 5.1 million panels last year for Galaxy Z Flip3.
Previously, there were reports about Samsung willing to produce more foldable devices in 2022. These reports suggested that the company may increase the production of both Galaxy Z Flip4 and Z Fold4. However, Samsung may concentrate more on the production of the Z Flip4 for the scalability and accessible price point of the device.
As we all know, the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip3 5G was launched with a starting price of $999 ( around Rs 76,200), which was remarkably below the Z Flip3’s original price of $1,380 (around Rs 1,05,300).
Samsung’s Z foldable devices have become more popular with every successive generation, launched over the last few years. The devices in this lineup became more polished and advanced with each new release. For chronological reference, the Galaxy Z Flip and Z Fold 2 came with articulating hinges, whereas both the Z Flip 3 5G and Z Fold3 were made fully water-resistant.
