S8UL Esports and Yuzvendra Chahal Raise Over INR 15 Lakhs for Odisha Train Accident Victims, and More

S8UL hosted a charity stream on Monday to raise funds to support victims of the recent train accident in Odisha. The esports organisation managed to raise over Rs 15 lakhs for the cause. Tanmay Singh (ScoutOP), Naman Mathur (Mortal), and Lokesh Jain (8Bit_Goldy) were part of this charity stream for the cause.

Furthermore, talented Indian cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal was also present. ScoutOP and Mortal as well as Chahal donated Rs 1 lakh to support the victims of the accident. The popular content creators and Chahal played a BGMI match during the stream.

ScoutOP, a native of Odisha, was the creator who initiated the charity stream, as per S8UL. The organisation added that the gaming community’s response has been “overwhelmingly positive, highlighting their (gaming community’s) dedication and support.”

ScoutOP said, “Being from Odisha, I strongly felt it was my responsibility to do whatever I could within my capacity and help the people affected by this tragic disaster. The overwhelming success of the charity stream brings me an incredible sense of pride and joy.” He added that raising this amount will greatly aid those in need. He thanked the members of S8UL, Yuzvendra Chahal, and the gaming community for their support. “I am also grateful to my audience whose participation and generosity have played a significant role in helping us make a positive impact in the lives of those affected by the tragedy”, added ScoutOP.

Gaming Community’s Combined Efforts

ScoutOP’s initial livestream had Mortal, Goldy, 8Bithug, Payal Gaming, Krutika, and more pitching in to help raise funds for the cause. There have been several other content creators as well who hosted streams to raise charity. CarryMinati held a charity stream and raised around Rs 13 lakhs. There have been other gaming content creators who have contributed including Desi Gamers, GodLike Esports, Dynamo Gaming, Red Parasite & DS Gaming, KaliX- Gyan Gaming, Game Strange, and more.

Team Rebel and Team Jonathan were recently the winners and runner-ups respectively, of Krafton’s BGMI Rising. Both teams have donated their prize money towards the cause. In total, the gaming community has contributed over 35 lakhs towards aid for the victims, as reported by GemWire.
