S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2’s Latest Trailer Shows Off the Upcoming Title Following Delay Surrounding the War in Ukraine

GSC Game World has unveiled a new trailer for its upcoming title in the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. series, S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl.

The new trailer gives a fresh look at the title’s characters, setting, and its connections to the previous games of the series. Along with a detailed account of the Noosphere, which has been described as Earth’s Informational Field, the trailer also alludes to the Zone, which is the exclusion area surrounding the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant following the deadly disaster that took place in 1986.

Along with new details about the title, the developers of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl also confirmed the 2023 release year, despite the turmoil surrounding the war in Ukraine. For those unaware about the situation, the title was originally meant to release this year, before the Ukraine-based GSC Game World had to pause development due to the ongoing crisis in the nation.

However, even though the country remains on high alert, it seems like development has continued at the studio, as they hope to meet their deadlines and launch the game next year.

S.T.A.L.K.E.R developer dies in battle during the battle between Ukraine and Russia

The recent war has seen members of both Ukraine and Russia both take up arms to fight for their respective motherlands. One such Ukraine resident that joined the battle was S.T.A.L.K.E.R. developer Volodymyr Yezhov, who died earlier this week.

According to a tweet posted by Ukraine’s Defence Ministry, Yezhov passed away at the battle lines of Bakhmut, while defending against Russian soldiers. The developers at GSC Game World responded to the tweet with a heartfelt message to Volodymyr for the heroics he showcased, while also highlighting his work with the studio as well.
