Rockstar Games Acknowledges GTA 6 Leak, Confirms Continuation of Developmental Work As Planned

American studio Rockstar Games has confirmed the recent GTA 6 leaks to be true in a recent statement provided millions of its fans.

The community had waited a lot to see whether the rumors of the game leaking were true after all, as footage of several dev builds of the long-awaited title surfaced online. Furthermore, the leaker in question had also allegedly obtained the source codes of the upcoming title in the series, putting the development of GTA 6 under great peril.

In its statement, Rockstar said that it suffered a network intrusion. Even though the company is facing issues of a major leak, the company has calmed fans down by stating that the work on GTA 6 will continue without any disruption, with the developers further mentioning that they will carry on with their original plans.

Over the past two days, several rumors and statements from the hacker themselves have suggested a link between the recent data breaches in Uber and Rockstar Games. In a statement by Uber, the ride-sharing company has confirmed that both the hacks have been done by the same group called Lapsus$, who have also targeted Microsoft, Nokia, Nvidia and more.

Uber has shared that it is working alongside Rockstar Games, with the company even confirming that they are in “close coordination with the FBI and US Department of Justice on this matter.”
