On Monday, actor Riteish Deshmukh shared a video of himself, with his belly out from his shirt, while he ate his food. Sharing the video on Instagram, he wrote that he is currently trying to gain weight for his next film Mister Mummy. Riteish’s wife Genelia D’Souza will also star alongside him in the film. Sharing the video, Riteish wrote, “Yeh low-calorie meal.” He also added a line from the film Shaan in the background. The dialogue, that has been trending on social media, says, “Ajeeb janwar hai. Kitna bhi khaye bhookha he rehta hai (What kind of a strange animal it is, no matter how much it eats, it always remains hungry).”
Riteish also wrote, “When your director asks you to put on weight for the film. #MisterMummy.” In the video, Riteish can be seen eating chapatis, rice, and curry, with a few buttons of his shirt open and his belly out.
Mushtaq Shiekh commented, “I want to put on weight too.” One fan asked, “Dude, are you pregnant,” while another one joked, “prosthetics lagwa lete sir (you should have used prosthetics instead of gaining weight).” One person commented, “Mujhe bhi bhook lag gayi yeh dekh ke (Even I got hungry after watching this video).”
In February, Riteish and Genelia announced that they will be starring together in Mister Mummy. The comedy-drama is directed by Bunty Aur Babli director Shaad Ali and backed by Bhushan Kumar’s T-Series, Krishna Kumar, Ali, and Siva Ananth.
The official synopsis of the movie shared by the makers reads, ‘Mister Mummy revolves around the story of a couple (played by Riteish and Genelia) with opposing choices when it comes to children but destiny has something else planned for the childhood sweethearts on a mad, bumpy ride of comedy, drama, expect the unexpected from this labor of love.’
Riteish and Genelia are also set to star in the upcoming Marathi movie Ved. The film marks the directorial debut of Riteish and the acting debut of Genelia in Marathi cinema.
The couple had made their Bollywood debuts with the 2003 film Tujhe Meri Kasam. They fell in love on the sets of the film and went on to tie the knot in 2012.
