Resident Evil Village Steam Edition: Capcom Gets Rid of Denuvo DRM

Resident Evil Village is a title that has also been suffering from some issues lately; however, it seems like Capcom has finally found a solution for them. This solution gets rid of its anti-tamper software, Denuvo DRM, from Resident Evil Village Steam Edition.

As reported by DSOGaming, it seems that Capcom’s latest patch has made the overall performance of the game much better, but what’s strange is that, the removal of this anti-tamper software was done very sneakily.

For those who do not know, Denuvo DRM is not only an anti-tamper software, but also a digital rights management system. This software used to run in the background when playing the game. Due to that, the performance of the game was impacted, and it showed through frame-rate drops, lags, and glitches.

Many players also opted for pirated versions of the title instead of the Steam Edition, as the performance of the pirated copies was observed to be better than the authentic ones. Hopefully, after this patch, Capcom will not have to worry about the recurring performance issues as well as piracy of its title.
