Remnant 2 features a wide collection of classes, or archetypes, that suit various playstyles, from hard-hitting tanks to damage-dealing snipers. However, some of these archetypes require unlocks through in-game progression and achievements. One such class is the Explorer, which players will earn through a series of challenges that may take quite a bit of time to complete. But hey, if loot is a big deal, then the Explorer should be priority number one.
Thankfully, this guide will explain each step in unlocking the Explorer in Remnant 2, along with the unique skill accompanying the archetype.
How To Unlock The Explorer Archetype
Unlocking the Explorer class in Remnant 2 is genuinely quite simple. At least, it is on paper. In reality, it’s quite the grind and requires completing the entire campaign in Remnant 2 before the archetype unlocks for future playthroughs.
- Play through the main story once as any Archetype.
- Head to the Root Earth, then defeat Annihilation. In doing so, players will complete the main story questline.
- By beating the game, players unlock the Broken Compass.
- Return to Wallace in Ward 13, and give him the Broken Compass, 10 Lumenite Crystals, and 1000 Scrap.
- Players may craft the Golden Compass Engram, unlocking the Explorer archetype in Remnant 2.
The next time players start a game, the Explorer will be available as an archetype.
How To Receive The Treasure Hunter Skill
When players begin the game as an Explorer, they automatically receive key items to help in their journey.
- Realmwalker Armor Set
- Ford’s Scattergun
- Hero’s Sword
- Repeater Pistol
These items are extremely useful, especially in the early game, and will last for quite a while if players continue to upgrade them using resources like scrap.
Along with these items, players also unlock the Treasure Hunter skill, so long as they reach level 10 with the explorer on this new playthrough. The skill increases the character’s treasure-finding abilities by revealing unique items to everyone within the party within a 40m range. In all, the effect will last for 60 seconds and has an 88.2-second cooldown.
