Warner Bros. Games and Warner Bros. Montreal have released a brand new trailer today for the upcoming action RPG Gotham Knights, with the latest video focusing on Red Hood, one of the game’s playable characters.
The new trailer shows off some of Red Hood’s acrobatic bad-assery as he flings bad guys around like rag dolls while stopping short of actually turning them into a past-tense. We also get to see some of the different outfits that Red Hood will have at his disposal in Gotham Knights, including a very devilish, Darth Maul-y bit of headgear, complete with pointy horns.
For those who are unaware, underneath the red hood (it’s more of a mask, actually) is Jason Todd, a former apprentice of Bruce Wayne; the Robin to his Batman. With a chequered past as a one-time villain/one-time corpse, Red Hood has turned a corner and now works in harmony with the ‘Batman Family’ while adhering to the superhero code of beating the living poop of out a bad guy, but leaving them with a pulse. Those handguns he runs around with in the trailer have more than just regular bullets in them, as you’ll see.
After being resurrected in the Lazarus Pit, Red Hood now has mystical powers that he can call upon to take out baddies without filling up the local morgue. The local hospital and its physical therapy center are not to be so fortunate.
Gotham Knights is due to release later this year on October 25th, 2022. The game was originally announced as a cross-generation release before eventually being made a next-gen/PC-only title. If you missed out on the previous character trailer featuring Barbara Gordon’s Batgirl, you should definitely check it out. You should also definitely expect to see a little more of Gotham Knights in the not-so-distant future, considering that Gamescom is just around the corner and it’s kicking off with a two-hour-long live stream with over 30 game presentations.
