Grand Theft auto developer Rockstar is bringing the original Red Dead Redemption to PS4 and Nintendo Switch. Launching with the core game and Undead Nightmare expansion, Red Dead Redemption has an August 17 release date on PlayStation and Switch. The game is expected to launch at around 10am BST UK time, which means you don’t have long to wait to play an all-time classic on the go. The only downside is that Red Dead Redemption has a £39.99 price tag, so you might want to wait for reviews to go live before making a purchase.
Initially available as a digital download, a physical version will launch for both platforms on October 13.
The port is being handled by Double Eleven Studios, whose previous credits include Minecraft Dungeons (with Mojang), Prison Architect and LittleBigPlanet on PlayStation Vita.
The game supports new languages, and also contains bonus content from the Game of the Year editions.
Sadly, there’s no multiplayer support, and it doesn’t appear to contain any major visual or audio upgrades.

“When federal agents threaten his family, former outlaw John Marston is forced to hunt down the gang of criminals he once called friends,” reads the official description.
“Experience Marston’s journey across the sprawling expanses of the American West and Mexico as he fights to bury his blood-stained past in the critically acclaimed predecessor to the 2018 blockbuster, Red Dead Redemption 2.”
Fans who enjoy the original Red Dead Redemption can also pick up the sequel, which is out now on PlayStation consoles, Xbox and PC.
The sequel actually takes place before the events of the original, as fans learn more about John Marston and his gang of outlaws.
