The Brazilian age ratings board may have shed some light on a surprise new video game release for the Nintendo Switch. Discovered by Twitter user @necrolipe, Red Dead Redemption 2 has been given an age rating in Brazil for the Nintendo console. You can see the filing further down the page. Needless to say, the discovery of the rating would suggest that a Red Dead 2 port will release in the coming months for Nintendo’s popular handheld/home console hybrid.
One interesting point to mention is that the Brazilian ratings board doesn’t classify cloud ports ( via Gamingbolt).
This means the game would be developed for the hardware, suggesting that we could get a scaled back version of Red Dead 2.
It would also be surprising if Red Dead Online makes an appearance as part of the package.
On the plus side, if Red Dead 2 does successfully make its way to Switch, then fans will be hoping that GTA 5 will follow.
Developer Rockstar Games has been bringing more of its library to Switch in recent years, with the PS2-era GTA trilogy and the original Red Dead Redemption both launching for the console.
As for Red Dead Redemption 2, the game is actually a prequel to the 2010 Rockstar open-world classic.
The game features an even bigger game world than its predecessor, as well as countless new side quests and bonus activities such as camp management.
Rockstar explains more: “America, 1899. Arthur Morgan and the Van der Linde gang are outlaws on the run. With federal agents and the best bounty hunters in the nation massing on their heels, the gang must rob, steal and fight their way across the rugged heartland of America in order to survive.
“As deepening internal divisions threaten to tear the gang apart, Arthur must make a choice between his own ideals and loyalty to the gang who raised him.”
