Public Health Education: DPSRU collaborates with NCDC & IPC – Times of India

NE DELHI: Delhi Pharmaceutical Sciences and Research University (DPSRU) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) and Indian Pharmacopoeia Commission (IPC).

The MoU was aimed to fill the gap between education and industry and to provide the students better research facilities through collaborations with organizations of repute. The MOU’s affirm long-standing partnership between the organizations to collaborate in academics and scientific research activities in the areas of Public Health, Hospital Management, Pharmaceutical Analysis, Pharmacology and Pharmaceutical Management.

DPSRU will collaborate both with NCDC and IPC to identify ways to implement the objectives of this memorandum of understanding by working together wherever applicable in their respective ongoing programs and research projects.
The MoU was signed in the presence of Prof. (Dr) Ramesh K. Goyal, Vice Chancellor, DPSRU along with Dr. Sujeet Kumar Singh, Director, NCDC, Dr. Rajeev Singh Raghuvanshi, Secretary cum Scientific Director, IPC and Dr. O.P Shukla, Registrar DPSRU. The officials from NCDC included Dr. Arti Bahl, Additional Director & Head, Epidemiology Division, Dr. Sudhir K Jain, Advisor, Dr. Meera Dhuria, Joint Director and Dr. Suneet Kaur, Deputy Director while Scientific team from IPC included Dr Menakshi Dahiya, Principal Scientific Officer and Dr Kalai Vani, Sr. Scientific Officer.

Prof Goyal assured that this collaboration is the beginning of very long-term partnership for the welfare of students and society.

The ceremony was attended by Dr.P. K Sahoo, Dean Research and Director DIPSAR, Dr Geeta Aggarwal, Dean Academics, DPSRU, Dr Jaseela Majeed, Head, School of Allied Health Sciences and Management (SAHSM), Dr Saurabh Dahiya, Associate Professor, and Nodal Officer for collaboration with IPC, Dr Puneeta Ajmera, Associate Professor and Dr J. Swaminathan, Assistant Professor of the Department of Public Health of SAHSM.
